How do I know that you are legit?

  • We have been around since 2001 and growing EVERY year. We have in excess of 215 active brokers ALL who have completed this program. We have been chronicled in Donald Trump University's book Entrepreneurship 101. We have authored dozens of online resources available throughout the net. You can ask our references - they have come to us offering to speak to those like you. We are real people in a real place - this is partially why we do one-on-one training in person. We are the largest and most respected local business brokerage group in Western and Central New York through our local companies A.S. Radin & Associates and BSN of WNY.

Is this the type of opportunity that requires endless cold calling?

  • No, contrary to what you may have heard, cold calling IS NOT the best way to generate leads. We recommend that our brokers DO NOT cold call! You see, the most motivated leads are those calling you and our superior marketing structure accomplishes just that! Our proprietary marketing structure is far more successful than basic mass mailings or cold calling. Scott Radin, BSN's V.P. of Sales & Marketing and the designer, trainer and supporter of these programs has performed hundreds of sales and marketing workshops teaching the technique of getting prospects contacting you.

Why do you charge $9,300 when others charge more?

  • Those charging more are generally a franchise concept and have to account for franchise costs and expenses. Yes we are 3-6 times less expensive than franchises and we WANT to keep it that way. We are not in business to get every dime out of someone. We are in business to make BSN and BSN brokers the best out there. And if you succeed then you may use our revenue centers and if you use these revenue centers then we will get compensated from the source and not you. We would prefer to succeed with you and not on you. Our fee – though it may raise from time to time – is still very fair.

Why do you charge $9,300 when others charge less?

  • First those charging less are providing less. A school or organization provides some basic training but offers NO support, updates, ongoing training or networking. Your single fee covers a comprehensive 3-day one-on-one training session FOLLOWED by the most comprehensive support in the industry. Before making the assumption that we are MORE expensive you first have to make sure that you are comparing us to the right entities. We are closer to the franchises out there except they charge 3-6 times MORE than we do while we provide a superior service without ongoing fees or commission splits. Oh and did we mention the Quick Start Marketing Program where we reinvest a portion of your fee back into you by featuring your business brokerage on Google?

Why can't I pay the fee in installments or on my first sale?

  • We are not a franchise and we have to be careful not to be construed as a franchise. One of these areas that differentiates a franchise from a network like ours is an ongoing monetary or compensation agreement. By law we have to be very careful NOT to have an ongoing monetary or compensation relationship as this can be considered a franchise like activity and the FTC frowns on this. It is also the reason that we can keep our fee to you manageable because as with any business - defaults are passed onto the consumer. Defaults are one of the reasons that franchises charge the high fees that they do.

How long will it take me to see revenue from my first sale?

  • On average we see 3-4 months before you sell your first business or businesses. There is a start up phase which we cover first thing on Day 1 in training. There is a DEFINITE correlation between those who do the best - the quickest - and those who use the support to it's fullest. We EXPECT to hear from new brokers daily - we ENCOURAGE new brokers to contact us daily. The record for a first sale is 3 weeks after training - that is your challenge if you choose to accept it.

What makes you different than the other major business brokering outlets?

  • The answer starts with our proprietary marketing approach to business owners interested in selling - our marketing system has them contacting you - so no cold calling on your end. In addition to the marketing technique, we provide all BSN brokers with a unique sales presentation that they roll out on the initial seller meeting - this presentation almost guarantees that the owner will want to list with you. Another key area that differentiates us from the others is our approach to business buyers. We are the only firm that spends a great deal of time training buyer processes - including a detailed walk through of a buyer from interview to offer. The final difference I will highlight is our Full Disclosure approach to brokering. BSN business brokers are the only brokers in the country who have a detailed and systematic process to fully disclosing all procedures to both business buyers and sellers. With BSN you ARE a business broker NOT an agent to a broker.

What if you already have a BSN broker in my area?

  • That could be a benefit to you. This network is all about - well - networking so almost every broker in our network encourages and wants other BSN brokers in their market. The reason is simple. There are too many bad business brokers out there so BSN brokers need someone that they can trust and work with knowing all were trained by BSN and follow the same philosophy. It would benefit you because an existing BSN broker already has listings in place that you can co-broker with them on. There are no territorial restrictions - this would be practicing franchising again - so all BSN brokers are free to broker where they want. With 20% of all businesses having an interest to sell within a given year - the prospects are endless.

Do you provide leads and/or web site?

  • Yes to both. The leads that we generate go directly to your web site or they contact you directly by phone. These are both buyer and seller leads. You will be applying the marketing process from training to generate your own leads as well - and these are both buyer AND seller leads. Does it work? We average 10+ new leads within 2 weeks of launching your business brokerage - then they continue from there. We also provide a stand alone web site that either you can host and market yourself or have us do it for you.

Can BSN finance business buyers?

  • Yes, not only do we work with 40+ lenders - we have a source that will PRE-QUALIFY your listings for financing. Since getting financed is a buyer's #1 concern, having a listing pre-qualified for financing greatly increases the # of offers on each listing. Here's the best part - you get commissioned on every successful loan you put through our program! This means you make money selling the business AND financing the buyer.

 What is the success rate of your brokers?

  • All BSN brokers are independent brokers and not required to report to us. By our calculations, 92% of all brokers that we have trained are still brokering. Most are full time (or went part time to full time) and some like attorneys and accountants we've trained are part time using it as a "value added" service. 

How does BSN make their money…do you get a percentage of my sales?

  • No, if you sell a business, 100% of the commission is yours. We make money if you utilize any of our other profit centers - but you make money from these profit centers as well. Selling businesses is 100% your commission!  

Is the corporate BSN team active in business brokering?

  • Yes, the two corporate partners - Richard Noblett and Scott Radin - form the largest local business brokering group in the Buffalo NY region. Their sister companies are well known for their ethical and professional approach to brokering. THEY APPLY what they teach and support!

Do I need to qualify with you or do you take anyone?

  • We will not take anyone - we take pride in our network so anyone accepted into training has demonstrated that they carry an ethical outlook and that all decision makers (spouse etc.) are on board with this commitment. Again, the training fee is not our primary source of income so we do nothing strictly "for the money". You must contact us to assure that you feel comfortable with us and we feel comfortable with you. We do not cold call prospects!

What type of background succeeds as a broker and/or do I need experience?

  • You do not need experience. We estimate that 15% of all that we have trained came to us AFTER joining one of the other brokering outfits on the market - this includes the franchise opportunities and agent opportunities. YES, we re-train our competitor's brokers under extreme confidentiality. As for the 85% new to brokering, the backgrounds range from attorneys and accountants to disgruntled business owners to real estate people onto sales people. We've even trained dentists, machinists and laborers. It's not what you have done it's all about your ability to communicate, structure yourself and work hard.
